Project Manager, Marketing Localisation

The role available is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Marketing Localisation team (https://www.vsi.tv/corporate), based out of our award winning LA studios. The position of Project Manager is a key new hire which will require the careful management of complex localisation projects for our entertainment, editorial, marketing, corporate and gaming client base.


This is a fast-paced role. You will need to be adept at working in close collaboration with our UK based team across multiple projects, and be someone that can foster deep commercial relationships with our LA based clients.

About the role: 

  • Managing multi-language project cycles from initial quotation to planning, scheduling, budgeting, problem-solving, QC, delivery and sign-off for invoicing, while adhering to VSI processes and quality standards
  • Guaranteeing client satisfaction through the successful management of localisation projects to deadlines, all within budget
  • Close financial monitoring and control of projects through budgets, invoicing and change orders, achieving targeted levels of profitability
  • Preparing quotes for complex projects and pro-actively maintaining a thorough understanding of VSI’s core businesses, in order to be able to advise clients on our services and maximise cross-selling opportunities
  • Management of complex or strategic projects involving multiple external and/or internal departments/teams
  • Providing Account Management services to strategic LA based clients.
  • Preparing monthly reports and maintaining data for strategic clients and internal use as required
  • Chairing production meetings or conference calls with clients on complex projects
  • Proactively dealing with client feedback and assisting more junior members of the department when replying to clients
  • Offering support to junior members of the team
  • Identification of project/process improvement opportunities
  • Assisting with quotations by providing pre-sales process support, advice and analysis of files
  • Discussing and understanding each client's specific requirements and offering advice if necessary
  • Working with team leads on revising and implementing improvements to operational workflows and processes
  • Assisting with testing of new tools and processes and introducing changes as required

Core skills:

  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Effective verbal/written communication with clients, partners and internal team members
  • Proven client-facing experience, preferably working with large streaming platforms
  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience in the localisation and/or media industries in a project management role – knowledge of graphics localization, subtitling and dubbing/VO is a plus
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent preferably in Translation, Audio-visual translation or a related discipline
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Highly motivated, with proven problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well independently, under pressure, and in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and adaptable to working in a variety of roles, in a changing environment
  • Knowledge of a foreign language is a plus
  • Working knowledge of a subtitling software is desirable
  • Working knowledge of Trados or MemoQ is desirable
